Skincare is one of those routines I like having sorted. Here are the products I’m using, with the reason for each step. This isn’t sponsored, and it’s a record of what I use rather than a shopping list everyone needs to copy.
Morning
L’Oréal cleanser and micellar water. I start with cleansing. The point is to remove oil and residue gently, not leave my face feeling stripped. Whether both products are necessary depends on what needs removing and how my skin responds; more cleansing isn’t automatically better.
CeraVe eye cream. I carefully apply a small dot under each eye. I’m using it for that area’s moisture and appearance, without expecting a cream to fix every cause of dark circles.
L’Oréal Men Expert Hydra Energetic. This is my moisturiser. The version in my routine is marketed with vitamin C and proteins, but keeping my skin comfortable and moisturised is the practical reason it’s there.
Eucerin Oil Control SPF 30. Sunscreen finishes the routine. I like having an oil-control option. It needs to be applied generously and reapplied according to the label, especially outdoors; the morning application isn’t protection for an entire day in the sun.
Evening
Sukin Facial Cleanser. I use this in the shower. My version contains aloe vera and is labelled paraben-free. Those labels don’t by themselves make a cleanser better; what matters is whether it cleans without irritating my skin.
L’Oréal cleanser and micellar water. These were also in my evening routine for removing the day’s residue and sunscreen. If one gentle cleanse does the job, there’s no need to keep adding steps. Tightness or stinging is a reason to simplify.
CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum. Retinol is the treatment step, rather than another moisturiser. It can help with texture over time, but can also irritate skin. Follow the product instructions, introduce it gradually, and get professional advice if you’re unsure. Retinoids should be avoided during pregnancy.
Cien Men Hydro Age Q10 moisturising cream. The LIDL cream is my final moisturising layer. I’m not expecting the “anti-wrinkle” wording to turn back time; I want something that leaves my skin comfortable.
The useful bit is a routine I can stick with. Product names are here for context, not because everyone needs this many products or the same brands.
